Abstract

Parameter optimization is performed, transmission characteristics are analyzed, and effects of fabrication errors are investigated for a lateral coupling microring resonator (MRR). Simulated results show that the fabrication errors result in the shift and shape change of the transmission spectrum compared with the designed case without errors. In order to reduce spectral changes, an efficient compensation method of fabrication errors is investigated.
