Abstract
In this paper, an effective multicast stream scheduling mechanism in PON is proposed. The weights of buffered queues in the SCB port of OLT are calculated based on the multicast efficiency, aiming to achieve maximized effective multicast throughput. Simulation results confirm that the proposed mechanism can obtain better performance than previous method when system is heavy loaded.
