Abstract

The author has compiled his lifelong vast personal experience in the surgical management of infants and children into this nicely illustrated and lucid compendium of operations for the most common malformations and surgical conditions in this age group. A concise, stepwise description of current operative techniques is provided in this first major volume to update the author's classic textbook of pediatric surgery of almost two decades ago. The volume includes a comprehensive review of the major conditions requiring operative management in general, thoracic, and urologie surgery. This pediatric surgical atlas does not include a discussion of embryology or diagnostic management of the conditions for the operations described. However, an excellent review of the literature and bibliography for each of the conditions is presented for the reader's more detailed perusal.
