Abstract
An assessment of the intentions of primary care physicians to refer patients to medical specialists was examined. The Fishbein Theory of Behavioral Intention provided the theoretical foundation for the analysis of structural relations using LISREL. Results identify numerous factors deemed critical to the referral process by referring physicians.
