A simple approximation is outlined for calculating Compton scatter from phantoms of low atomic number. Reasonable agreement with experiment was obtained for radiations over a wide energy range, from 137Cs gamma -rays to 14 Mv X-rays, if the spectral distributions of the radiations were taken into account.
