Abstract
An approximation for the probability of the rank order of k independent random variables is used to analyze incomplete ranked data, consisting of rankings of objects by judges. The approximation allows linear models to be fitted to the data so that differences amongst groups of judges can be investigated, and factorial models applied to investigate differences amongst the objects.
