Abstract

This paper considers the stability analysis and design of fuzzy control systems for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems. First, the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model with uncertainty is defined. Next, stability conditions for a class of uncertain systems are collected from the robust control field. These conditions are drawn from theories of quadratic stabilization, H/spl infin/ control and linear matrix inequalities. These conditions are employed to derive stability conditions for a generalized class of uncertain systems. The derived stability conditions are then utilized for the robust stability analysis of the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems controlled by parallel distributed compensations. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for the quadratic stability of the nonlinear fuzzy control systems with uncertainty.
