Abstract
Recently, we have proposed a new information theory of deterministic functions (sometimes referred to as information of patterns and forms) different from the Kolmogorov entropy framework utilized by physicists to analyze chaotic dynamics, and our purpose herein is to examine in which way this theory could be of help in problems of identification and estimation.
