Abstract
The temperature distribution is an important issue for the design and safety assessment of the repository for disposing high-level radioactive nuclear waste (HLW). In order to analyze the heat conduction property near the HLW canister under three-dimensional heat transfer condition, a solution to the temperature distribution is obtained by combining the following two parts: (1) The ratio of temperature between the finite length heat source (FLHS) and infinite length heat source (ILHS), which are obtained by integrating the solution of the point source heat transfer model. (2) An analytical solution to the temperature distribution near HLW canister with two-dimensional heat transfer for double-layered media in the lateral direction. Then, the solution of temperature near the HLW canister under three-dimensional heat transfer condition is verified by checking against the existing ones for a special case in the literature. Finally, a parametric study is performed to investigate the temperature performance in the buffer layer and surrounding rock with different parameters.
