Abstract

The randomness of the output of renewable energy generations and the uncertainty of customer load make it difficult to evaluate the reliability of the distribution system. This paper proposes an efficient reliability evaluation method for distribution system considering the uncertainty of renewable energy generations and load. Probability density functions are used to model the renewable energy generations and loads to describe their randomness. The load nodes are divided into three types according to the availability of renewable energy generations and discussed separately whether they will lose power when components fail. The calculation formula of the reliability index considering randomness is deduced. Finally, the proposed method is verified on a modified IEEE 37-node test system.
