Abstract

With the development of superconducting energy storage technology, inductors are becoming a promising choice for pulsed power supplies. In our previous work, an improved repetitive inductive pulsed power supply circuit with ICCOS (inverse current commutation with semiconductor devices) technique was studied, which used a pulse transformer as the energy storage unit. To facilitate the analysis of the circuit parameters, an analytical method based on the idea of decoupling is proposed in this paper. The analytical method can quickly solve the time-domain expressions of the inductor currents, and more performance induces can be obtained by further derivation. Compared with the previous qualitative descriptions or numerical results, the analytical method can be more convenient for the parameter optimization of the improved circuit. The validity of the analytical method is verified by the comparison with the simulation results. The waveforms obtained by the analytical method closely match the simulated waveforms, and their errors are within an acceptable range.
