Abstract

Inductive pulsed power supply (IPPS) has become a promising option for pulsed power supply in an electromagnetic launch system due to its strengths in energy density. In our previous study, an improved repetitive inductive pulsed power supply circuit based on a pulse transformer was proposed. This circuit achieves an increase in energy level while retaining the characteristics of its predecessor. In this paper, an analytical method to simulate the working process of this circuit has been described with emphasis of the energy transfer phase and residual energy recovery phase. This method was verified through comparison with a numerical simulation. As a result, this method can meet the requirements of accuracy and validity, and other circuit performance indices can be obtained with further derivation.
