Abstract

Civic Education has been derived from basic education, but has not given a significant for students in any level of education. It is proven by the fact that there are still many young people who do not understand and implement the rights and obligations in Civic Education properly in their daily lives. Therefore, both civic knowledge and civic disposition have not gone as expected. This problem becomes a great task for lecturers of Civic Education subject. This study aimed to overview and analyse the suitability of civic knowledge and civic disposition on the material/topic “rights and obligations” of citizens. This study was a descriptive study by using a qualitative approach. This study was carried out in 2 universities, 1 Vocational High School, 1 Junior High School, and 1 Elementary School. The subjects were determined by using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques was carried out by using interview and documentation, and triangulation as data analysis. This study resulted that the course had not been in accordance with civic knowledge and civic disposition. For the suitability of the material’s course, it had been in accordance with the curriculum at every education level, although not all materials were taught.
