Abstract

“Marine power” is a new major direction of global economic development. To strengthen the development of marine economy (ME), the linkage between marine industry (MI) and regional economy (RE) is analyzed. To verify the linkage between MI and RE, traditional methods and measurement methods are used to combine contribution, pull, relative growth rate, stability test, cointegration test, etc. From 2006 to 2010, the average contribution of MI in the Bohai Rim (BR), Yangtze River Delta (YRD) and Pearl River Delta (PRD) economic zones to the RE was 15.5%, 13.97% and 20.02%. The pull on the RE is the PRD region, the BR region and the YRD region from the largest to the smallest. The average values are 3.0%, 2.7% and 2.2% respectively. The total contribution of MI in the three major economic regions to regional economic growth is 0.20, 0.16 and 014 in the PRD region, the BR region and the YRD region from high to low. At the same time, the regression results can be used for practical analysis.
