Abstract
The main object of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the fast transient response capability of the field oriented or vector controlled variable frequency induction motor. Another torque control previously reported in the literature, called the field acceleration method, is shown to have similar transient torque response. These fast response torque controls, used with bipolar transients and GTO inverters, are expected to be applied in a great many variable frequency induction motor drives in the future.
