Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze candidate teachers’ attitudes towards learning. This descriptive survey study had a sample comprising of candidate teachers enrolled at Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, Biology Teaching Department. Personal Information Form and Attitudes Related to Learning Scale were used as data collection tools. The one-dimension measurement instrument included 40 five-point Likert-type items. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was found to be .73. Research data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and t-test in SPSS 15.0 program. The score of candidate teachers’ attitudes toward learning have demonstrated over the medium correlation level with the overall scale. Considering the degree of openness to the learning process, it was identified that there is a significant difference emerged for grade.
