Abstract

This study examines the organization of internship for students majoring in translation and interpreting at the Department of French, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education with a goal to enhance the training quality and better prepare students for new demands from the profession and the labour market. On the basis of the ‘configuration’ proposed by Norbert Elias (1970), this study analyzes the multidimensionality and complexity of internship situations. The findings attained from organizations that provide internship opportunities serve as the basis for improvements to the internship module and the training quality at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
