Abstract

The paper puts forward a computer algebra algorithm to calculate parameters of toric compactification of ℂn in which a given smooth toric variety can be embedded as a “skeleton of infinity.” Such a compactification of an affine space extends the well-known decomposition ℙn = ℂn ⊔ ℙn−1∞. The implementation of the algorithm in the computer algebra system Maple is described.
