Abstract
For pulse shape discrimination the charge comparison method and the zero-cross timing method are analyzed, and the superiority of the former for low energies is shown. A fast accurate circuit for pulse shape discrimination is described, and the results obtained with the liquid scintillator NE213 are presented. Its γ rejection ratio remains better than 1000: 1 for neutron energies down to 50 keV.
