Abstract
Dear Sir, The honour I received, by being elected a fellow of the Royal Society, excites me through gratitude to offer that learned body whatever occurs to me new, or worthy attention in the animal world; and the respect I bear you, dear sir, for your learning and goodness, to which I must add your having been so useful a member of that learned body such a number of years, and the encouragement you have constantly shewn towards promoting natural history, emboldens me to transmit to you this paper containing the descriptions of a very singular species of wasp and of locust, [Tab. VI.] which I met with in the island of Jamaica.
