Abstract
AbstractSince the publication of the Special Visa Issue in October 1952, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists has published each year a summary of the problems facing the foreign scientist who applies for a visitor's permit to the U.S. The Federation of American Scientists sponsors a Visa Committee which follows not only the legislative and administrative developments in this area but also maintains contact with individuals and organizations who have experienced difficulties. Their evaluation of the present visa situation is presented in two sections—the first is a general survey of the year 1954–55 and the second is a selection of case histories.
