Abstract

The article is devoted to the American humanitarian aid for the victims of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), carried out by the American Administration in 1937-1939 through the International Committee of the Red Cross and the American Red Cross, in cooperation with the American Committee of Friends on Service. The study provides analysis of the negotiation process between Spanish Republican and American politicians and social activists regarding the assistance provided; analysis of the activities of the organizations that provided the assistance. The American humanitarian aid for the victims of the hostilities in the territory of Spain in 1936-1939 indicated contradictions in the policy of the US neutrality poliсy.
