Abstract

Ameloblastoma is a benign neoplasia of the jaws, composed by odontogenic epithelium in proliferation, with slow growth, but invasive. Presents 3 clinical and histomorphological variants, being the most common solid type. The objective of this work is to report the case of a patient who to clinical-imagological examination presented tumefaction in region of left maxilla, facial asymmetry, cortical ablation in maxilla rear region, radiolucid image, unilocular, with osteolysis of ipsilateral maxillary alveolar process, radicular reabsorption of associated molars, with about 5 cm in its greater diameter, with epicenter in maximum seal, with evolution of 3 years. In the incisional biopsy showed solid lesion and encapsulated with a histopathological report of solid ameloblastoma. The maxillectomy was performed by Weber-Fergusson access and fixed titanium screen intended to give better support to molecular tissues. The patient is observed, on the 11th postoperative month, without recycling signs and with satisfactory aesthetic-functional result.
