Abstract
The lifetimes of some superheavy nuclei are calculated using a method based on the unified theory of nuclear reactions which eliminates the use of arbitrary radii and ambuguous potentials. The results are compared with calculations using Gamow theory and also values calculated from semi-empirical formulae.
