Abstract

Abstract ALLEGHENY LUDLUM Type 29-4 is a low-interstitial ferritic stainless steel. It contains approximately 29% chromium and 4% molybdenum. The alloy provides excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking in chloride-containing environments. Type 29-4 is used widely for chemical processing equipment because of its excellent resistance to corrosion. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-362. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
