Abstract
Abstract We report studies on the doping of poly(3-alkylthiophenes) with dodecylbenzene sulfonate. The electrochemical doping leads to a material of low conductivity and doping level. This material is susceptible to rapid thermal undoping similar to that observed with poly(3-alkylthiophenes) doped with small inorganic anions. Interaction between the side-chains on the electroactive polymer and substituents on the dopants are suggested as a means for increasing the order of polymer-dopant interactions.
