Abstract
In the work both α-Fe/graphite-Fe and graphite-Fe precursors activated with metallic potassium or KOH were studied as catalysts for ammonia synthesis reaction. The metallic potassium has a much greater promoting effect than KOH due to the potassium capability to react with iron-graphite compound. The formed sites of FeCK are active at mild conditions.
