Abstract

The frequency response of a loudspeaker is conditioned by the moving assembly structural characteristics. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of analyzing the structural behavior of the moving assembly for two types of loudspeakers, stressing the desirability of determining the relevant modes for its proper functioning. First of them is an Air Motion Transformer (AMT) and the second one a small conventional dynamic loudspeaker. To this end, some results of numerical analysis using finite elements are presented, resorting to the use of the concept of participation factor as a criterion when designing a new loudspeaker or improving a given one.
