Abstract

Digital controller of switching dc-dc converter has many advantages over conventional analog controllers. However, time delay is an accompanying shortcoming of digital controller. This time delay will greatly degrade the transient performance of switching dc-dc converters. In this paper, an algorithm to overcome this time delay is proposed and studied. The transient performance of the proposed digital algorithms is studied and compared to show the performance improvement of the new algorithm by overcome this time delay. Small-signal analysis is also performed to study the effect of the time delay on the bandwidth. The experimental system provides further verification of the algorithm.
