Abstract
Abstract The test area was part of an established 20 acre alfalfa field. Spray of the compounds under test were applied on Jun 30 and evaluations made at 24 hr considering the high mobility of the Insects under test. The grasshoppers were ca 45% 2nd and 3rd stage differential grasshoppers, 45% 2nd to 4th stage redlegged grasshopper and 10% other grasshoppers species. Finished sprays were applied to 0.25 acre plots at 12 gpa and 40 psi. Materials were applie with an IH cub tractor rigged with a 20 ft spray boom, FS-4 nozzles, 50 mesh filter screens, and a PT0 roller pump. Temperature at time of treatment was 82°F and alfalfa was ca 10 inches tall. Efficacy evaluation was made by sub-sampling plots with 10 swee|i samples per plot.
