Abstract
Alexander A. Boddy's (1854-1930) influence on the rise of Pentecostalism in Great Britain is well known. Less known is his contribution to the development of Pentecostalism on the Continent. The Dutch Pentecostal leader Gerrit Polman referred to Boddy as his spiritual father. Between 1908-1912 Boddy visited Amsterdam four times. This paper examines Boddy's important role in the upcoming Pentecostal Movement in The Netherlands.
