Abstract
Alan Williams was born 12 August 1954, at 2 Elaine Avenue, Mostom, In Manchester. He received his early education at Manchester Grammar School. After the age of 15, his involvement in education was, in his own words, “peripheral,” although in 1974-75 he put in one year of a three-year programme at Manchester Polytechnical School of Theatre, after which he was, again In his own words, “thrown out.”
