Abstract
The article discusses the main directions of development of the educational theory and practice in the field of industrial design. Systematization of the latest achievements of scientific thought in comparison with current trends in social change and industrial design makes it possible to reveal transformational processes that are currently taking place in industrial design education. The study also addresses the experience and the results of existing educational programs optimization.
