Abstract
The paper spells out agency in a manner sympathetic to the approach in Helen Steward’s A Metaphysics for Freedom (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2012); argues that agency so construed is compatible with determinism; then argues that this is a costly victory for compatibilism.
