Abstract
The changes in tensile properties of three Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) film samples were investigated. The specimens were made from the same base polumer but the methods of preparation were different: two were isotropic pressed and cooled at different rates, while the third was oriented (made by blow-extrusion). It was established that the initial structure strongly influences the mechanical properties and their change under UV-irradiation. Orientation has a strong light-stabilising effect.
