Abstract
This paper challenges the BPS to realign its position on transgender presentations in the light of the Cass Review. The latter highlighted the failure of a narrow ethics of recognition approach at the Gender Identity Development Service at the Tavistock Clinic, which had created an iatrogenic scandal, with clinical psychologists at its centre.
