Abstract
THE lone lay guest at a medical dinner is often at a disadvantage when he has been well wined and dined and then finds that he has been summoned to his feet to for his supper. If, however, he happens to be a lawyer he can be counted upon to sing well, and the doctors can usually be sure of good postprandial entertainment. This was the case on a recent occasion when a local medical society had an eminent judge as its guest. Predictably, he began by saying that he knew that many doctors complained of being kept waiting . . .
