Abstract
O artigo discute a circulação dos afetos no processo de morrer, articulando a literatura sobre trabalho de cuidado e a literatura sobre emoções, sentimentos e afetos na Sociologia e na Antropologia. Apresentam-se os dados de pesquisa na forma de cenas etnográficas, coletados durante trabalho de campo em um serviço de assistência domiciliar paliativo em um hospital público do Rio de Janeiro. Discute-se a relação entre repertórios de interpretação dos afetos e regras de sentimento, bem como sua padronização em rotinas de ação através de papéis sociais e posições estruturadas.
