Abstract

Dr. Henry M. Spinelli will assume responsibility as the third Editor-in-Chief of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery on April 1, 2010 at the retirement of current Editor, Dr. Thomas M. Biggs, who has served the journal so well since taking it over from Founding Editor, Dr. Blair O. Rogers. Dr. Spinelli practices in New York City. His work in craniofacial, oculoplastic, aesthetic, and micro surgery is nationally recognized. He has lectured and written extensively on these subjects, and is an educator and respected author. His text, Atlas of Aesthetic Eyelid and Periocular Surgery, published by Elsevier, has been translated into several languages. A long-time contributor to our field, Dr. Spinelli holds a faculty appointment at Cornell University Medical College as clinical professor of surgery. He has also served on the faculty of Yale University as the director of craniofacial surgery. He is board certified in plastic surgery and ophthalmology. Dr. Spinelli maintains memberships in numerous professional societies and currently is on the staff at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York City. Building on the solid foundation our journal has achieved over its 33-year history, thanks to the efforts of his two predecessors, Dr. Spinelli plans to add to the journal’s already successful reputation while maintaining its mission as a truly international, academic publication. He believes a multifaceted approach will bring both highquality scientific articles to the readership and a sound business model tailored to current worldwide academic, clinical, public, and industry needs to the journal, raising Aesthetic Plastic Surgery to the next level. To this end, he plans to create an environment of inclusiveness in every aspect of the journal. The ISAPS board, our publisher, and our global readers welcome Dr. Spinelli and look forward to working with him as the journal begins its 34th year of publication.
