Abstract

Abstract Snap beans were planted Jun 10 at the Rosemount Agricultural Experiment Station, Rosemount, MN. Plots were 48 x 50 ft, arranged randomly in 3 replications along the flight path of the aircraft. Sprays were applied Jul 29 and Aug 5 with a fixed-wing agricultural aircraft delivering 5 gal/acre at 33 psi. Plots were infested with corn borer egg masses in the ‘blackhead’ stage Jul 25 at a rate of 22 egg masses/50 ft row. Evaluation of insecticide efficacy was done by harvesting 50 row-ft from each plot and examining plants for dammage pods and vines.
