Abstract A description is provided for Aecidium mori . Information is included on the disease caused by the organism, its transmission, geographical distribution, and hosts. HOSTS: Mulberry, including Morus alba, M. bombycis and M. indica ; also on Broussonetia spp. DISEASE: Rust of mulberry. GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION: Asia: Afghanistan, Burma, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand (CMI Distr. Map 602, 1989). TRANSMISSION: By aeciospores, which are disseminated by air currents and water splash; possibly also by infected propagation material (50: 1308).
