Abstract
In recent years, the incidence of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) has gradually become younger, and the incidence rate is increasing year by year. This article starts from the etiology and mechanism of PHN in Chinese medicine, briefly describes the treatment methods of western medicine, focuses on analyzing the progress of Chinese medicine in the treatment of PHN in recent years, and finds that postherpetic neuralgia is mainly related to residual toxins that are not yet cleared, liver and qi stagnation, qi and blood deficiency, and yin and collaterals obstruction, and discusses in detail the advantages of Chinese medicine in the treatment of PHN.
