Abstract

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a kind of serious traumatic disease. It is still controversial about perioperative blood management of TBI patients. This article intends to review advances in perioperative blood management of patients with TBI. The hemoglobin threshold of blood transfusion, the transfusion of stored red blood cell and the coagulation function in patients with TBI are discussed. So far, it is still lack of multi-center cooperated large-scale random clinical trials on perioperative blood management in TBI patients. Further studies will be important for improving the long-term prognosis of patients with brain trauma. Key words: Craniocerebral injury; Perioperation; Blood management
