Abstract
An annotated review of the recent litterature on compressor technology is presented, covering primarily the 1988 Purdue compressor conference. A review of a few other papers is included. Comments are presented about common positive displacement refrigerant compressors, i.e. reciprocating, rolling piston and other rotary compressors, screw and scroll compressors. Comments are also made concerning several engineering technologies related to these compressors, i.e. vibrations and acoustics, gas pulsations, capacity control and efficiency, performance valve technology, bearings, oil and lubrication.
