Abstract

AbstractAtopic dermatitis (AD) is a common dermatologic ailment with a large variety of treatment options ranging from topical to systemic medications. First‐line treatment for AD often involves topical therapy using agents such as emollients, topical corticosteroids, phosphodiesterase‐4 (PDE4) inhibitors, and calcineurin inhibitors. Despite these therapeutic options, there are numerous emerging topical therapies in the pipeline for AD. This review will discuss novel and emerging topical medications for AD including PDE4 inhibitors, janus kinase inhibitors, aryl hydrocarbon receptor modulators, and other miscellaneous agents.
