Abstract

Background NOD-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) inflammasomes are multimeric protein that consists of NLRP3, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD(ASC) and cysteinyl aspartate specific proteinase-1(caspase-1). NLRP3 is an important regulator of caspase-1, the enzyme that processes the immature form of IL-1β into the active protein. IL-1β act as a receptor of exogenous microorganisms and endogenous danger signas. Objective The purpose of this review is to focus on how NLRP3 inflammasomes regulate inflammatory disease through negative regulation. Content To explain the roles of pyrin domains, ubiquitination, nitric oxide, interferon, reactive oxygen species in regulating effect of NLRP3 inflammasomes. Trend To provide some new ideas of the diagnosis and therapy for NLRP3 inflammasomes-related diseases. Key words: Inflammasomes; NOD-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3
