Abstract
The adsorption of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) on titanium dioxide (TiO 2) from binary solvents (methanol/water) was measured and its effect on dispersion stability was studied. It was found that as water content in the binary solvents increases the adsorption of PVP decreases and the dispersion stability of TiO 2 decreases. The results are discussed in terms of preferential adsorption of water onto TiO 2 and entropic interaction between adsorbed PVP molecules.
