SummaryInfluenza virus will adsorb to powdered magnetic ferric oxide and can be eluted from the iron with appropriate concentrations of sodium phosphate or sodium carbonate. This reaction appears to be a physical adsorption and provides a simple method for concentration and partial purification of viruses.
