Abstract
To explore the experience of being in the Go Girls! program from the perspective of its participants. Drawing from a social constructivist approach, this study consisted of semi-structured interviews conducted with 12 purposively sampled Go Girls! participants. The results provided evidence for the emergence of 2 higher-order themes that subsume 7 lower-order themes and 27 categories that relate to the general components of the program and program outcomes associated with participating in the program. Participants in the Go Girls! program reported enjoying the program, experiencing changes in important health-enhancing cognitions and behaviors and developing meaningful relationships with program mentors and other program participants.
