Abstract

The effect of the immersion angle on the resonant frequency shift of the quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) was investigated in a Newtonian liquid. The resonant frequency shift of the QCM was inquired by two types of approaches. One was the shift of the frequency at the minimal impedance and the other was that at the maximal conductance in the admittance analysis. This examination revealed that both frequency shifts were dependent on the immersion angle. However, it became clear that the values of frequency shift at the minimal impedance were larger than those at the maximal conductance.
